Basilla Sam Weng Io, pianista do Coro Perosi desde 2006, iniciou os estudos de piano aos seis anos de idade com Lei Pou Tin e, posteriormente, com Ieong Sao Kuan na Academia de Música S. Pio X. Participou em várias edições do Concurso para Jovens Músicos de Macau, organizade pelo então Instituto Cultural de Macau, tendo side premiada em primeiro,m Segundo e terceiro lugares. Terminado o curso secundário, Basilla seguiu os estudos na Universidade de Iowa dos Estados Unidos da América, onde frequentou a dupla-licenciatura em Comunicação Gráfica e Música, concluindo-a com menção de honra. Foi também nesse período que Basilla completou o 8.˚ Grau de Piano do Associated Board of the Royal School of Music. Após a graduação, aprofundou os estudos na Escola das Artes Visuais de Nova Iorque, onde obteve o grau de mestrado. Regressou a Macau em 2003 e dedica-se, actualmente, a trabalhos de desenvolvimento artístico. Entretanto, prossegue ainda o aprofundamento dos estudos musicais junto da mestre Tatiana Kriger, o que a levou a obter, ultimamente, o Diploma em Music Performance de The Associated Board of the Royal School of Music em 2006. Recentemente, deu início aos estudos de orgão no Universidade de São José de Macau, sob a orientação do Professor Aurelio Porfiri.

Born in Macao, Basilla Sam began her piano lessons at the age of six, under the guidance of Mr. Lei Pou Tin. She then entered the S. Pio X Academy of Music learning from Ms. Ieong Sao Kuan. Basilla had ever won the first, second and third prizes respectively in the Macao Youth Music Competitions held by the Cultural Affairs Bureau. After graduated form high school, she furthered her studies at the University of Iowa of the United States from where she received her Bachelor’s Degree with honor majoring in Graphic Design and minoring in Music. During this period, Basilla also received her 8th Grade Diploma in Piano from The Associated Board of the Royal School of Music. She then continued to pursue her studies at the School of Visual Arts in New York from where she earned her Master’s Degree. Basilla returned to Macao in 2003, working in the field of cultural development. After her return to Macao, she again furthered her studies following Teacher Tatiana Kriger, while obtaining the Diploma of The Associated Board of the Royal School of Music in Music Performance in 2006. Since then, Basilla is the accompanist of the Perosi Choir. In 2012, she obtained a Diploma in Liturgy at the Saint Joseph University and had studied organ with Professor Aurelio Porfiri.
