澳門是一個東西文化匯流的城巿，西方的合唱文化隨著天主教的東傳於四百年前便已傳入澳門。
天主教的禮儀一向都有以音樂配合的傳統，因此，澳門天主教區一向都有自歐洲聘請音樂家來澳教 授音樂和主理禮儀音樂，較為人所知的是1924年受聘來澳的是意大利音樂家馬炳寧神父（Ferdinando Maberini）和1939年來澳的奧地利音樂家司馬榮神父（Guilherme Schmid）二人均留下大量的宗教合唱作品；而二人中，以逗留在澳門27年之久的司馬榮神父對澳門的 音樂發展影響最大，他除了有大量的音樂創作外，他更是桃李滿門，他的學生遍布世界各地，且大都有音樂作品發表，在眾多學生中，為國際所知的是林樂培和區師達神父(Áureo Castro)，他倆的作品已多次列入嚶鳴合唱團的節目單內，今再接再勵以專場形式向 各位介紹司馬榮神父和區師達神父的合唱作品。
在節目單中尤其 值得留意的曲目是於2009年9月在蓮溪廟舊物攤發現的且獲確證為司馬榮神父所作的“降B大調彌撒曲”和區師達神父的“謝主曲”。兩部均屬大型的合唱作品，音樂品質很高，是澳門非物質文化中的珍品，值得大家認識和欣賞。
Macau is a city of encounter for Eastern and Western cultures, within which the musical culture of choral works began to develop in Macau with the entry of the Catholic religion over four centuries ago.
Catholic Liturgy has always been accompanied by music, and the Diocese of Macau has invited several European musicians to teach and conduct liturgical music in Macao. For example, both Italian musician Father Ferdinando Maberini who came to Macau in 1924 and Austrian Father Guilherme Schmid who came to Macau in 1939 left a large body of religious choral works. Among which, Father Guilherme Schmid, who had lived in Macau for 27 years, left a huge legacy in the musical development of Macau. In addition to the large quantity of musical works, he also produced students all over the world, many of who are authors of musical works, and among them are the world-famous Doming Lam and Father Áureo Castro. Their works have already been performed multiple times in concerts of Coro Perosi. Once again, Coro Perosi will present the choral works of Father Guilherme Schmid and Father Áureo Castro in a concert fully dedicated to the choral works of Macao.
This program features two prominent works, “Mass in Bb Major” by Father Guilherme Schmid, and “Te Deum” by Father Áureo Castro. The first one was first discovered among second-hand goods in front of Lin Kai Temple in September 2009 and later identified as Father Schmid’s work. Both are large-scale choral works and are of great musical quality; they are considered precious to the intangible cultural heritage of Macao. It’s certainly worth everyone’s while to participate in this concert.
